About
HULA HALAU LOCATED IN HAWAII KAI, OAHU,
Established as Hula Halau `O Leolani in 1972. Humble Beginnings In 1972, teenagers in the Hawaii Kai area approached Aunty Leolani wanting to learn the hula. Aunty was currently teaching for C&C Parks & Recreation; along side with Aunty Mary Kawena Pukui, George Holokai, Adeline Lee. Later joined by Gabby Pahinui, Kimo Alama, and Kaulana Kasparovich. Aunty began teaching these five energetic teens at her home, thus the birth of Hula Halau `O Leolani. Sharing our love for our Polynesian culture through the grace of dance, teaching our students through Kahiko, Auana, and also Tahitian. We are a non-competitive halau, who shares our passion for dancing through performing around the community and private events.
